The game would continue the Saints Row series’ transition from a somewhat grounded Grand Theft Auto parody to an off-the-rails science fiction adventure, featuring full-blown superpowers, outlandish weapons like a gun that shoots dubstep music at enemies, a “Nolan North” voice option provided by the man himself, and a crazy cast of squadmates that saw the characters from previous games join forces with the likes of Keith David and Rowdy Roddy Piper – as in the actual real-life people, who even spoof their iconic fight scene from They Live! at one point.
