Then go to advanced, then advanced settings, and you should see a list of your connections, with arrows on the right hand side.

To organise the adapter order, assuming you're in Windows 7, go to your list of network adapters via your network and internet window, and under "organize" and then "layout" make sure that the menu bar is enabled. I've used wired, but my friend in the same house uses wireless, and we played no problem. Well I'm not sure about wireless so much but I can't see it being any different to wired in this respect. Question still being then how would I set up the Hamachi to the primary network adaptor without incouring any problems with my current WAN connection?

I was trying to see if I can avoid using Hamachi etc and send it as a direct IP based connection, I have played this game on LAN when it first came out with a friend, was hillarious watching him disintigrate into a pile of items and IRL a ball of rage. I remember lag when playing it on a (non-internet connected!) LAN back when I was younger and playing it with a friend of mine, but it's not a gamebreaker by any means, it can just look a bit weird at times. But yes, save often, and expect a degree of lag even if you're technically playing on a LAN, because of the way Hamachi works. Also make sure that Hamachi is the preferred (top of the list) network adapter once it's installed, and SS2 should work fine.
